Marine Conservation Isn't a Field Trip.
It's Fieldwork.
Most volunteer programs give you a clipboard and send you on survey swims. We believe real ocean conservation requires both rigorous science and direct action.
At Reef Buddy, you don't just observe the crisis—you build the solution:
Stream 1: Advanced Citizen Science, Learn 3D Photogrammetry to build digital twin models of living reefs. Conduct global-standard Reef Check and CoralWatch biodiversity audits, and deploy BRUVS (Baited Remote Underwater Video) to track sharks, rays, and apex predators.
Stream 2: Direct Coral Regeneration Get your hands wet in our underwater coral nurseries . Fragment resilient corals, maintain nursery trees, and outplant living fragments directly back onto damaged reefs.
You will see the physical impact of your work before you pack your bags.

Where Does Your Investment Go?
We believe in 100% financial and environmental transparency. Here is why paid volunteering powers real conservation.

Why isn't eco-volunteering free?
Instead of relying on grants to keep our lights on, we apply for and target specialized conservation grants exclusively to fund groundbreaking new project streams. For example, grant funding allows us to launch innovative initiatives like our Diadema (Long-Spined Sea Urchin) Re-introduction Program in Carriacou —restoring critical reef grazers to reverse algae smothering and rebuild habitat resilience. Your volunteer fees secure our daily foundation so every dollar of grant funding we win goes directly into cutting-edge marine restoration.
It's a fair question! The reality of modern conservation is that government and grant funding is scarce. If a volunteer program is completely free, the burden usually falls on underfunded local host communities or underpaid staff.
Your contribution directly covers:
All-Inclusive On-Site Logistics: Daily boat dives, gas, tanks, dive gear, accommodation, and daily meals.
Professional Mentorship: 1-on-1 instruction from certified marine biologists and PADI Instructors.
Fueling the Mission Year-Round: Your fees fund local marine protection, coral nursery materials, and community education long after your stay ends.
